TRIRIGA Innovators Forum 2023

The TRIRIGA Innovators Forum 2023 was a two-day event with a mission to bring together the TRIRIGA community and thought leaders in sustainability from across the world. We brought together industry experts, thought leaders, and professionals from various sectors to showcase the latest innovations in TRIRIGA and IWMS. A significant focus of the event was to shed light on the crucial ESG/Sustainability shift needed in the Corporate Real Estate sector.

Event Summary

Day One

We opened the event with a social evening at Searcy’s at the Gherkin on the 38th floor, offering a stunning 360 view of London. This intimate networking event facilitated cross-collaboration between businesses that might not have interacted otherwise. It also provided a wonderful opportunity to catch up with industry friends while enjoying delicious food and drinks, setting the stage for an exciting TRIRIGA Innovators Forum.

Day Two

On day two, the main event, the TRIRIGA Innovators Forum 2023, took place at the IBM Innovation Studio in London, starting with a networking breakfast. The presentations commenced with a focus on IBM TRIRIGA. Priesh Kamani from IBM led the presentations with an introduction to the IBM TRIRIGA Application Suite (TAS), highlighting its ability to enhance operational efficiency and workplace experience through intelligent space management for real estate portfolios. Following that, Paul Lacey, Senior Product Manager at IBM provided an in-depth look at the IBM TRIRIGA Roadmap.

During the coffee and snack breaks, attendees were treated to immersive experiences, choosing between AI-powered robotic dog ‘Spot,’ the mind-blowing IBM Quantum One Computing, and the captivating Mayflower experience.

The keynote speaker, Michael Pawlyn, a pioneer of regenerative design and biomimicry, offered a unique perspective on environmental real estate management, advocating for solutions inspired by the natural world. Michael’s thought-provoking insights left the audience contemplating how these ideas could be implemented in their businesses, inspiring a potential paradigm shift in real estate practices.

Lunch provided another networking opportunity, accompanied by a fantastic spread organized by the IBM Innovation Studio.

The afternoon session continued the focus on Sustainability, with James Hobbs introducing IBM Envizi, a valuable tool to help businesses establish sustainable practices through data management. Kal Gyimesi then stepped in for Gerald Waterfall, presenting how IBM approaches sustainability within its own global real estate portfolio, utilizing software such as IBM Maximo, IBM TRIRIGA, and IBM Envizi. The segment concluded with Phil Sayers presenting an often amusing case study on innovation in IBM TRIRIGA used as the basis of the SLAMIS project for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation’s Accommodation Booking System.

The final break of the day provided another opportunity for attendees to experience one more of the brilliant offerings at the IBM Innovation Studios. With the honour of closing out the information-packed day, we had the passionate James Bate, Senior Project Manager from NHS England, present on the challenges the NHS is facing while striving to achieve net-zero emissions within their real estate portfolio. James highlighted the significance of underlying data as a crucial utility in accomplishing sustainability goals.

We want to thank everyone who attended and made it such a success. Most attendees stayed until the very end of what can only be described as a thought-provoking day of presentations, and engaging Q&A segments, injected with fun and laughter. We concluded the day fittingly with drinks and quality networking inside the IBM Innovation studio, where everybody enjoyed conversations about the day’s topics,  well-deserved drinks and more delicious food from the IBM catering team.

We also want to say a special thanks to our partner for the event IBM, who helped make this event possible. Finally we can’t wait to do this again in 2024, and we hope to make it even bigger and better so that we keep the TRIRIGA, IWMS, and Real Estate community innovating into the future.

A very interesting and successful event, important information about the roadmap of TRIRIGA. It was very exciting to meet other TRIRIGA members of the community in person and share experiences. We are looking forward if this event will find a continuation.
