IBM Maximo 7.6.1 is out now! Paula 06.08.2018 On the 27th July IBM released a new version of IBM Maximo Asset Management, the world’s leading enterprise asset management solution. The new version (7.6.1) comes with a lot of new features and capabilities. Some examples are, an updated installation process, a new user interface skin, enhancements to multiple Work Centers, and more. Let us give you a sneak preview of what to expect in the new Maximo. Firstly, IBM has updated the installation process to be java 8 compatible. You will need to install IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.1 in a separate location on the administrative workstation, as the files that are included with Maximo Asset Management 7.6.1 replace all existing core Maximo Asset Management files. Good news is Maximo 7.6.1 comes with a whole new skin called IoT 18, which modernises the user interface and experience. This new skin improves usability by increasing spacing in the user interface views and is responsive to the size of the screen. Labels for each field dynamically adjust position, moving from above the field to the left of the field as the interface increases in size. A start center in Maximo 7.6.1 Furthermore, IBM has published enhancements to multiple Work Centres consisting of new functions and improvements in user-friendliness. New in Service Requests Enhancements to the Service Requests Work Centre streamline ticket creation and makes it easier to classify service requests accurately. As an example, it’s now possible to designate a location for a new service request by scanning a QR code or bar code on your mobile device or desktop. In addition, IBM improved the data lookup. Now it is possible, for example, to easily access asset and location hierarchy information. New in Work Management Enhancements for the Work Supervision and Work Execution Work Centres include usability improvements and new features. For the Work Supervision Work Centre, for example, the developers added a new Review Service Requests page. And on the Work Progress page, supervisors can expand to full screen mode the Approve Work, Assign Owner, Monitor Work, and Close Work sections. And after expanding the sections, they can also toggle between a card format and a list format for work orders. These are just a few of the many new features and improvements for the benefit of this Work Centre. The Work Execution Work Centre has a lot of new features and improvements. Added possibilities are the ability to report failures, report downtime, enter meter readings, create follow-up work orders and a new added Related Records section to the details tab for work orders are just a few examples. New in Inspections There are mainly improvements for the Manage Inspection Forms Work Centre, which makes the inspection process more comprehensive. For example, there is now the possibility: to associate a form with multiple assets or locations at the same time, report multiple inspection results in bulk, respond to inspection form questions with date and time information, and apply multiple inspections to a route. And last but not least IBM introduced the entitlement of Cognos Analytics 11.0.11 with Maximo 7.6.1. Finally now IBM Maximo 7.6.1 entitles you directly to the latest version of Cognos Analytics. Just like Maximo, IBM updated Cognos 11 with a new and modern user interface. Cognos 11 allows you to transpose, discover, visualise, and share Maximo content by using the Cognos Analytics dashboards, storybooks, and reports. In addition, Cognos has a mobile application available for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. Share:
